Petra visit from Taba International Marina ………
The Taba Heights Marina offers maritime visitors direct access, entry and secure moorings, making the Gulf of Aqaba a much more attractive and appealing destination to sail to. The International Tourist Marina has approximately 11,500 square metres of water area, with depths of between 2.5 and 3 metres near the main building. The marina can comfortably accommodate up to 50 yachts and provide overnight mooring.
But not only yacht owners enjoy the facilities of the Marina and the luxury of the Taba Heights resorts. Daily tours to Aqaba depart from here and hence the marina offers a fantastic opportunity to include the Red Rose City Petra into your program. A one hour sail takes you to the Aqaba Marina and from there by bus to Petra. Petra is situated deep inside a narrow desert gorge. The site is accessed by walking through a kilometer long gorge (or siq). Petra 's most famous monument, the Treasury, appears dramatically at the end of the siq. Various walks and climbs reveal literally hundreds of buildings, tombs, baths, funerary halls, temples, arched gateways, colonnaded streets and the 3000 seat open air a
mphitheatre, as well as a gigantic first century Monastery and a modern archeological museum.
The boat schedule usually allows an extended stay in Jordan for those, who like to explore another day in Petra and enjoy the candle light walk and the Petra Kitchen, or combine a Petra visit with an outstanding Wadi Rum excursion by jeep or who like to enjoy a Spa experience in the luxury resorts of the Dead Sea.
