Lufthansa & Austrian Airlines piece concept change
The free baggage allowances per passenger will be as follows:
· Economy Class: 1 item of baggage weighing up to 23 kg
· Business Class: 2 items of baggage weighing up to 32 kg each,
· First Class: 3 items of baggage weighing up to 32 kg each,
For infants under two years of age without their own seat, the free baggage
allowance remains unchanged: one collapsible pushchair plus one item of
baggage weighing a maximum of 23 kg.
Depending on status, Miles & More members can check in additional items
free of charge.
Effective 1st of March 2011, SWISS Air Lines will apply a revised free baggage allowance policy
For passengers travelling in SWISS Economy Class between North America (USA, Canada and Mexico) and Europe:
One piece of checked baggage weighing up to 23kg/50lbs with total dimensions of 158 cm (H+W+D) is free of charge.
A second piece of checked baggage with same weight and dimensions as for the first piece will be subject to a fee
of EUR 40; USD/CAD 50 or CHF 60.
Today’s charges for an extra checked piece outside the free baggage allowance or a heavy piece weighing
between 24kg/51lbs - 32kg/70lbs remain unchanged.
The fee for the second piece of baggage could be paid via swiss.com or at the SWISS ticket counter at the airport.
The internet channel is available to customers and travel agents.
The free baggage allowance for First and Business Class guests as well as for Miles& More Status passengers
(Star Alliance Gold Members, HON Circle, Senators and Frequent Traveler) remains unchanged.
All passengers continue to be entitled to check-in one set of ski equipment free of charge
Customers free size allowances:
The standard-sized bag is no more than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm (22ins x 18ins x 10ins), including the handle, pockets and wheels and for the second piece of laptop-sized bag – 45cm x 36cm x 20cm (18ins x 14ins x 8ins), including the handle, pockets and wheels.
A 23kg (51lbs) maximum bag weight applies and you must be able to lift the bag into the overhead lockers in the aircraft cabin unaided.
The standard-sized bag must be able to be:
- fitted into the gauge available in the check-in area
- lifted into the aircraft's overhead lockers unaided (although cabin crew will assist customer if they have additional needs)
The laptop-sized bag must fit under the seat in front of each customer.
